Nature inspired crafts from repurposed and recycled materials

Sarah founded Alot of Scents in 2018 after being inspired by a program on repurposed china cups. Since then her crafts have evolved to draw inspiration from and incorporate elements of the natural West Cork landscape, fauna and flora.
“Living in West Cork, Dunbeacon allows me to enjoy walks on the beaches and coastline collecting and incorporating seashells in my crafts. Not only is it the attraction of the seascape, but inspiration has been taken from the landscape where I now collect and press hedgerow flowers and botanicals.”

Teacup Candles
The Teacup Candles are always one of a kind, using second hand, thrifted, quality china cups and soy wax. Soy wax is a lovely sustainable wax that burns cleaner and slower than other paraffin-based candles. Once the scented candle has burnt, the china cup can be washed with warm soapy water ready for its next use!

We work with various fragrances including the popular Lemongrass & Ginger, Neroli & Bay, Myrrh & Tonka. We also create a selection of fresh and comforting Laundry fragrances, a coastal fragrance range and seasonal scents for all occasions.

West Cork Oyster Shell Candles
Hand painted in Gold Gilt enamel paint, filled with fragrant Soy Wax and topped with a pearl. Our Oyster Shell candles make a beautiful gift or a keepsake.

Gel Candles
Seascape | Hedgerow | Winter
Gel Candles incorporate local shells and hedgerow botanicals into a gel wax layer between two glass holders. Hand poured tealights or votive candles illuminate the designs to give your space a seascape, hedgerow or winter theme.

Crafts
Local mussel shells and pressed hedgerow botanicals bring colour and nature into these, both practical and fun, hand-made crafts.

Sustainability
Alot of Scents operates with consideration for the environment through foraging, repurposing and recycling, and through the use of biodegradable materials and packaging.
